Elissa Wank Williams

Elissa Wank Williams, 67, a Palo Alto native, died Jan. 5.

She was born in Palo Alto in 1933 to Melville & Bernice (Siegel) Wank, was a student at Jordan High School and graduated form Palo Alto High School in 1952. She married her junior high school sweetheart, the late Gary Williams, a longtime Peninsula advertising executive.

For years, she was active with the Chamber of Commerce, and most recently worked at Menlo Management Company. Her involvement with these organizations made her was well-known and well-liked within the Menlo Park business community. Additionally, she was an avid volunteer, giving her time most regularly to the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club and the Children's Health Council.

She is survived by her five children and six grandchildren.

Services have been held. Donations may be made to the Elissa and Gary T. Williams Memorial Fund to benefit youth, sport and art in the Menlo Park/Palo Alto area. Contributions can be made through the Peninsula Community Foundation at 1700 S. El Camino Real #300, San Mateo, 94402.

Elissa Williams, a native of Palo Alto, died Jan. 5. A memorial service in her honor will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Lucie Stern Community Center Ballroom, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elissa and Gary T. Williams Memorial Fund, Peninsula Community Foundation, 1700 S. El Camino Real #300, San Mateo, 94402.
